Nicodemus was a highly respected religious leader who came to Jesus privately, seeking answers. Jesus met him not with pleasantries but with a direct and unexpected truth: you must be born again. This was not a call to self-improvement or religious upgrade but a call to an entirely new life initiated by God Himself. The concept was not new. It had been woven into the scriptures Nicodemus had studied his whole life, rooted in the idea that someone could be born into the kingdom of God regardless of their background or origin. Just as the Israelites in the wilderness were healed simply by looking at the bronze serpent Moses lifted up, salvation comes by looking to Jesus and believing in what He has done. The invitation is open to everyone, with no prerequisites and no minimum qualifications required.
