Jerome Hunter, an educator, speaker, and thought leader on boys and healthy masculinity joins guest host Omari Salisbury to discuss pressing issues facing young Black boys. As the founder and former Chief Academic Officer of the Seattle School for Boys, an educational consultant, and a teacher in the College of Education at Seattle University, Hunter has dedicated his career to helping communities, schools, and educators better support the social, emotional, and academic development of young men. Hunter explores his personal experiences, from growing up as a young Black man in Spokane, Washington, to his first-hand perspectives working with young men of color and how masculinity intertwines with social advocacy. He highlights how mentors, educators, fathers, and community members can collaborate to support young men of color and connect Black masculinity to social advocacy before they reach moments of crisis.
