Sl: Rimski sonce je žarelo nad mestom Pompeji.
En: The Roman sun shone over the city of Pompeji.

Sl: Ulice so brnele od življenja.
En: The streets buzzed with life.

Sl: Trgovci so klicali svoje ponudbe, otroci so se igrali v prahu.
En: Merchants called out their offers, children played in the dust.

Sl: Med njimi se je Matej, učenjak iz severa, tiho premikal po ulicah.
En: Among them, Matej, a scholar from the north, quietly moved through the streets.

Sl: Njegove oči so iskale nekaj posebnega - starodavni zvitek, za katerega so govorice pravi, da je skrit v vili ob robu mesta.
En: His eyes were searching for something special - an ancient scroll rumored to be hidden in a villa on the edge of the city.

Sl: Bil je vroč poletni dan, zrak je bil težak.
En: It was a hot summer day, the air was heavy.

Sl: Ana in Luka sta bila že daleč pred njim.
En: Ana and Luka were already far ahead of him.
