Foreign Minister Wang Yi has urged Washington to remove disruptions and overcome obstacles to high-level exchanges between China and the United States, saying that both countries should earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state.

Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks on Wednesday during a meeting in Beijing with David Perdue, the US ambassador to China, according to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.
据中国外交部8月27日发布的消息，中共中央政治局委员、外交部长王毅8月26日在北京会见美国驻华大使戴维·珀杜时作出上述表态。

Under the guidance of the two heads of state, China and the US are working to build a constructive relationship of strategic stability, Wang said.
王毅表示，在两国元首的引领下，中美双方正共同努力构建具有战略稳定性的建设性关系。

He said facts show that improving bilateral relations, coexisting peacefully on the basis of mutual respect and achieving win-win cooperation serve the fundamental interests of the two peoples and meet the common expectations of the international community.
他表示，事实证明，改善两国关系，在相互尊重基础上和平共处、实现互利共赢，符合两国人民的根本利益，也顺应国际社会的共同期待。

Noting that the China-US relationship still faces various risks and challenges, Wang emphasized the need for both sides to focus on a constructive agenda and properly manage differences to promote stable, healthy and sustainable development of bilateral ties.
王毅指出，当前中美关系仍面临各种风险挑战，双方应聚焦建设性议程，妥善管控分歧，推动两国关系稳定、健康、可持续发展。

Perdue said the two heads of state have provided important strategic guidance for advancing bilateral ties, noting that US President Donald Trump's visit to China in May was a success.
珀杜表示，两国元首为推进双边关系发展提供了重要战略指引，并指出美国总统唐纳德·特朗普今年5月的访华之行取得成功。

The US is willing to strengthen communication with China, advance cooperation, make preparations for the next stage of important high-level interactions, and build a constructive relationship of strategic stability on the basis of respect and reciprocity, the ambassador added.
