SMART: Why New Orleans Saints Were Right To Keep 3 Quarterbacks As QB2 Question Remains Unanswered

Episode 2735 Published 1 month ago

Description

Keeping all three quarterbacks gives the New Orleans Saints the best path forward, with Tyler Shough positioned as QB1 and Spencer Rattler and Zach Wilson providing valuable system knowledge, starting experience, and veteran insight. The emergency third-quarterback rule makes roster flexibility especially important after Taysom Hill’s departure, while Rattler’s familiarity with Kellen Moore’s offense could benefit Shough throughout the season.

Jordyn Tyson will miss at least four games, but Bryce Lance and Barion Brown are ready to contribute immediately at wide receiver. Christen Miller could make an impact in the defensive tackle rotation, Oscar Delp’s role should expand, and Jeremiah Wright could push for a starting job if Cesar Ruiz isn’t available. Potential additions at cornerback, linebacker, and defensive tackle include Kenny Moore, Cobee Bryant, Tyrell Dodson, Trevin Wallace, and McKinnley Jackson.
