Af: Die wind van Kaapstad is ietwat ysig, maar die belofte van lente hang in die lug.
En: The wind of Kaapstad is somewhat chilly, but the promise of spring hangs in the air.

Af: Die V&A Waterfront krioel van die lewe.
En: The V&A Waterfront is bustling with life.

Af: Piet, Annelie, en Gerrit stap langs die dokke.
En: Piet, Annelie, and Gerrit walk along the docks.

Af: Piet, met sy fris hande in sy sakke, dink aan hoe hy Annelie kan beïndruk.
En: Piet, with his strong hands in his pockets, thinks about how he can impress Annelie.

En: Annelie giggles and says, "Oh Piet, you're brave, but now you have to retrieve your shoe!"

En: Piet is determined not to make a fool of himself.

En: He decides to borrow a fishing net from a nearby vendor.

En: "Can I use this quickly to catch my flip-flop?"
