Rohingya: Nine Years of Displacement, Persecution and the Fight for Justice

Published 3 days, 23 hours ago
Description
Nine years after more than 700,000 Rohingya fled Myanmar for Bangladesh, more than 1.2 million remain displaced, living in increasingly difficult conditions. In this interview, Rohingya activist and Free Rohingya Coalition co-founder Naysan Lwin joins us from Germany to discuss the continuing persecution of the Rohingya, fresh allegations of trafficking, forced labour, sexual violence and arbitrary detention, worsening conditions in the refugee camps, and the struggle for safe and dignified repatriation. Lwin also reflects on the Rohingya case before the International Court of Justice and what justice could mean for a community seeking the restoration of its citizenship, identity and fundamental rights.
