ימים אלו הם זמן מסוגל לעריכת התוועדויות להיותם באמצע ימי השבע-ברכות של חתונת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר [בי"ג אלול], שבא בהמשך ליום חתונת אביו [בי"א אלול]. ח"י אלול הוא יום הולדת של הבעש"ט ואדה"ז. ההוראה מפ' נצבים-וילך (לאנשים נשים וגם לטף): "נצבים" מורה על עמידה בתוקף. ובעבודה: עבודה בענין א', להתחזק בענין זה עצמו בתוקף גדול. ו"וילך" מורה על תנועת ההליכה מדרגא לדרגא. ובעבודה: שבכל ענין מחפש הדרך להגיע לעוד ענין. וישנו אופן שלישי: עפ"י סדר הרגיל צ"ל תחילה העבודה ד"נצבים" ואח"כ יכול ללכת ולעלות מחיל אל חיל, הנה בקביעות ש.ז. שבו קוראים "נצבים-וילך" יחד, ישנה הנתינת-כח שהעבודה תהי' באופן ד"נצבים-וילך" גם יחד. ועבודה זו גופא היא בעילוי אחר עילוי – "וילך". ועוד.

This is an appropriate time for holding farbrengens, in connection with Chai Elul, the birthday of the Baal Shem Tov and of the Alter Rebbe, and in connection with the Sheva Brachos of my father-in-law (whose wedding took place on 13 Elul) and the Sheva Brachos of his father (whose wedding took place on 11 Elul). The lesson from the combined parashyios of Nitzavim-Vayelech is as follows: Nitzavim means “standing firm,” meaning the service of strengthening oneself in a particular area, while Veyelech means movement, meaning the service of constantly advancing to new areas. Ordinarily, one must first serve in the manner of Nitzavim, and only then can he proceed to Vayelech. But when Nitzavim and Vayelech are read together, we are empowered to do both together, and in such a way that this form of service itself is done in a manner of continuous ascent.
