En: "There is a big festival happening outside.

En: There was only a little time left before school started.

Ga: "Féadfaimid comhréiteach a dhéanamh," a dúirt Maeve ar ball.
En: "We can make a compromise," Maeve said after a while.

Ga: "Tabhair dom beagán ama.
En: "Give me a little time.

Ga: Rachaidh mé leis an bhféile leat tar éis dom na leabhar a aimsiú ar líne.

Ga: Go tobann, stop Maeve.
En: Suddenly, Maeve stopped.

En: Books sorely missing from the library and even those rare textbooks that Maeve needed were there.

Ga: "Ach, níl airgead agam ach do rud amháin," arsa Maeve go díomach.
En: "But, I only have money for one thing," Maeve said disappointedly.

Ga: Rinne sí smaoineamh go tapa.
En: She thought quickly.

Ga: Dírithe mar a bhí sí, cheannaigh sí
