Description
Liza Mundy, Part Two: Heidi August transitions from tracking Soviets in Europe to fighting emerging networks of global terrorism, eventually opening a station in the Mediterranean. In the 1990s, female analysts like Cindy Storer, Barbara Sude, and Gina Bennett work in the low-prestige Counterterrorism Center. At Alec Station, Storer and her team build the original organizational chart of al-Qaeda and track its financier, Osama bin Laden. Despite their persistent warnings, senior leadership frequently ignores their pre-9/11 reports. Following 9/11, these women pioneer modern data-sifting and targeting techniques, ultimately leading to the Abbottabad raid. (2)
