Ru: Лето в Москве было жарким.
En: The summer in Moskve was hot.

Ru: Здание в самом центре города сияло окнами, как маяк среди темноты.
En: The building in the very center of the city shone with its windows like a lighthouse in the dark.

Ru: Каждый вечер люди уходили, и здание затаивало дыхание до утра.
En: Every evening, people left, and the building held its breath until morning.

Ru: В это время, в полуночную тишину, любопытное движение заметил Алексей, охранник с острым умом и страстью к головоломкам.
En: During this time, in the midnight silence, a curious movement caught the eye of Aleksey, a security guard with a sharp mind and a passion for puzzles.

Ru: Призрак человека скользил по коридорам на камере наблюдения.
En: A ghostly figure glided through the corridors on the surveillance cameras.

Ru: — Опять этот силует, — пробормотал Алексей, теряясь в догадках.
En: “Again this silhouette,” Aleksey muttered, lost in thought.

Ru: Но выходил человеческий силуэт непонятно откуда.

Ru: И что он тут делает?

Ru: «Сенсация», решила она.
En: "A sensation," she decided.

Ru: Её сердце билось быстрее при мысли об открытии.
En: Her heart beat faster at the thought of a discovery.

Ru: Но ей нужен был союзник.
En: But she needed an ally.

Ru: Они встретились в маленькой кафетерии на первом этаже.
En: They met in a small cafeteria on the first floor.

Ru: Алексей не назначал встречу, но Надя знала, когда его привычный перерыв.
En: Aleksey hadn't set up a meeting, but Nadya knew when his usual break was.

Ru: Она подошла к нему осторожно за столик, держа чашку кофе.
En: She cautiously approached him at a table, holding a cup of coffee.

Ru: — Я слышала о вашем загадочном посетителе, — сказала она, стараясь быть как можно непринужденней.
En: "I heard about your mysterious visitor," she said, trying to be as nonchalant as possible.

Ru: Алексей посмотрел на неё внимательно.
En: Aleksey looked at her thoughtfully.

Ru: Он вздохнул.
En: He sighed.

Ru: — Да, но мой босс считает, что это выдумка.
En: “Yes, but my boss thinks it’s a fabrication.”

Ru: Она кивнула и, глядя ему прямо в глаза, продолжила:
En: She nodded and, looking straight into his eyes, continued:

Ru: — Давайте разберемся вместе.
En: “Let’s figure it out together.

Ru: Я умещу ваш рассказ в статью.
En: I’ll fit your story into an article.

Ru: Общественный резонанс — лучший способ привлечь внимание.
En: Public resonance is the best way to attract attention.”

Ru: Так началось их движение вглубь таинственных коридоров и темных углов здания.
En: Thus began their journey into the depths of the building’s mysterious corridors and dark corners.

Ru: Они открыли архивы с данными бывших сотрудников и исследовали планы комплекса.
En: They opened archives with data about former employees and explored the complex’s plans.

Ru: Алексей каждый раз чувствовал тревогу, помогая Наде пробраться туда, где ей явно не следовало быть,
