The most demanding thing God put on Israel's calendar wasn't a festival. It was stopping.
You've been tired for years. The kind sleep doesn't touch.
You keep meaning to rest. You never do. And nobody ever told you that you were allowed to.
Leviticus 23 is the morning God hands His people a calendar, and the very first appointment He writes on it is the one you are worst at keeping.
Then it does something no calendar around it did. And by the end it stops being about farming at all and turns into a portrait of the One who said, come to Me, and I will give you rest.
