Even though TCU enters Saturday’s Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin as a 7.5-point favorite, a path to an upset for North Carolina certainly exists. Week Zero international games are notorious breeding grounds for chaos, and several specific vulnerabilities could derail the Horned Frogs' afternoon at Aviva Stadium.

First, quarterback and offensive continuity remain big question marks for TCU. With multi-year starter Josh Hoover gone and Harvard transfer Jaden Craig stepping directly into the fire under a brand-new offensive coordinator in Gordon Sammis, early-season rust is entirely possible. If Craig struggles to decode Bill Belichick’s defensive schemes or if the revamped group of skill-position transfers fails to gel quickly, TCU’s offense could stall out.

Second, North Carolina’s heavy portal overhaul introduces an element of the unknown. With 31 new players added, the Tar Heels are essentially an upgraded mystery box compared to the team that collapsed against TCU last year. Under the guidance of veteran coordinator Bobby Petrino, if transfer quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. manages to unlock explosive plays against a TCU secondary that occasionally leaked chunk yards last fall, UNC can put points on the board in a hurry.

Finally, the travel factor and jet lag heavily favor the underdog mentally. Crossing the Atlantic introduces strange kickoff times, disrupted sleep schedules, and an unusual environment. If TCU starts flat, fails to match North Carolina's desperation in Year 2 under Belichick, and allows the Tar Heels to hang around early, panic can set in. Should the Horned Frogs beat themselves with uncharacteristic penalties or turnovers, Bill Belichick’s squad is more than equipped to pull off the shocker abroad.
