The Business of Thinking Differently: Willie Blake on Dyslexia, Confidence, and Entrepreneurship
Published 5 hours ago
Description
What if the very thing you spent your life trying to hide eventually became the foundation of your business?
For many people with dyslexia, the challenge isn’t limited to reading, writing, or processing information differently.
It can shape confidence, career choices, relationships, and the way they measure themselves against everyone around them. When the world repeatedly tells you that your mind doesn’t work the “right” way, it’s easy to assume the problem is you.
But what happens when you stop trying to think like everyone else? What happens when you begin building around the way your mind already works?
My guest today, Willie Blake, was diagnosed with dyslexia in the first grade. For years, he struggled with feeling different, falling behind, and questioning his own abilities. Over time, however, he began to recognize that the same mind that created certain obstacles also gave him creativity, resilience, and a different way of seeing possibilities.
That realization eventually became the foundation of his business.
Today, Willie is a high-performance and career coach who helps dyslexic professionals and entrepreneurs move beyond self-doubt, overthinking, and perfectionism. He is the founder of WB Coaching, the host of the Light Beyond Limits podcast, and the creator of the Dyslexic Achievers Hub. But turning a personal struggle into a business creates challenges of its own. How do you transform vulnerability into credibility?
How do you help people embrace the way they think without minimizing the very real difficulties they face? And how do you build a sustainable business around a mission that is deeply personal?
