The New York Islanders' fan-voted 'Navy Lighthouse' third jersey is a symbol of a new era, and on this Beatline mailbag episode, Kelly and Gary break it down. Currently sitting sixth in the Metropolitan Division, the Islanders boast a deep roster featuring Mathew Barzal, Bo Horvat, and Ilya Sorokin.
We answer fan questions about the goaltending rotation with Sorokin, Varlamov, and Vanecek, the forward competition with Anthony Duclair, Matias Maccelli, and young guns like Calum Ritchie, and the defensive pairings with Adam Pelech, Ryan Pulock, and Alexander Romanov. Plus, a fun hypothetical building the perfect Islanders player and a lightning round of hot takes.
Gary predicts a career year for Barzal, while Kelly boldly forecasts a top-three finish in the Metro. Subscribe to the Beatline Podcast Network for daily Islanders coverage.
