Lv: Saules stari sildīja Rīgas vidusskolu, kad Māris ienāca skolas pagalmā.
En: The sun's rays warmed the Rīgas high school as Māris entered the school yard.
Lv: Bija orientācijas diena jaunajiem skolēniem.
En: It was orientation day for the new students.
Lv: Māris juta nervozitāti.
En: Māris felt nervous.
Lv: Viņš bija pārcēlies no laukiem uz Rīgu, un viss šķita tik liels un svešs.
En: He had moved from the countryside to Rīga, and everything seemed so big and unfamiliar.
