Don Fischer has been the voice of Indiana University athletics for more than five decades. Now, the incredible story of the legendary IU broadcaster is being told in a new documentary: Timeless: Don Fischer's Half-Century Broadcasting IU Sports.

On this special edition of Locked On Hoosiers, Jacob Goins sits down with documentary producer Mark Alesia to discuss how the project came together, what Indiana fans will see, and why Fischer's impact reaches far beyond the football field and basketball court.

The conversation dives into Fischer's 54 seasons behind the microphone, some of his most iconic calls, rare archival audio included in the documentary, stories from behind the scenes, and the connection Fischer has built with generations of Hoosier fans.

Mark also discusses Bob Costas' involvement in the documentary, Fischer's reaction when approached about the project, the process of putting decades of Indiana history together and his personal favorite Don Fischer calls.

Timeless will have a free public screening at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 27, before airing on WTIU at 6:30 p.m. Friday, August 28. The documentary is also expected to become available online over the weekend.
