The Abbott And Costello Show - "Sam Shovel - Case of the Curbstone Murder" (Old Time Radio, 1948)
Published 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Description
The Abbott And Costello Show presents “Sam Shovel - Case of the Curbstone Murder,” originally broadcast December 2, 1948. This archival ABC program stars Bud Abbott and Lou Costello.
After opening studio banter, Lou becomes comic private eye Sam Shovel, drawn into a hard-boiled case alongside Bud’s Lieutenant Abbott of Homicide. The detective setup gives way to the pair’s signature wordplay, misunderstandings, and absurdist gags, with singer Hal Winters featured and Matty Malneck providing the music.
The Abbott And Costello Show presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
