Episode 1: Who Are We? What is the "Airbnb Life?"
Description
Steve and Myka introduce Live Let Thrive, their new podcast about short-term rentals and real estate investing in Dallas-Fort Worth. Myka's condo near Cowboys Stadium cleared $1,000 profit in the first month of Airbnb, then got shut down by the HOA after a neighbor was caught running a prostitution ring. He pivoted to corporate rentals through Corporate Housing by Owner, now earning $1,600 a month with far less turnover work.
The hosts cover house hacking, renting rooms in their own homes, remote locks and property management, timeshare arbitrage on Worldmark inventory specials, and whether Airbnb helps or hurts neighborhoods. Steve is closing on a South Padre Island condo for his first full Airbnb after his Arlington house became a traditional rental. Myka shares how he's booking ten timeshare reservations in two days by reselling $50-a-night inventory specials for $100-136.
