Matthew 4:23 lays out the blueprint of Jesus’s ministry—three pillars that still hold up the pulpit today: teaching, preaching, and healing.

Teaching is the clear articulation of truth. It’s breaking down the Word so minds can grasp it. Preaching is the call to action—it’s truth on fire, demanding a response. And healing? Healing is the evidence. It’s the visible demonstration that the message has power, that the gospel doesn’t just inform—it transforms.

So, what does that mean for today’s pulpit? It means we must teach with clarity, preach with urgency, and expect transformation. The message must be rightly divided, the call must be boldly declared, and the fruit must be undeniable. We know the Word has landed—not because folks shouted, but because lives shifted. Hearts turned. Chains broke. Sinners became saints.

Because when the gospel is taught, preached, and lived healing follows. Not just in bodies, but in families, in communities, in souls. That’s the ministry of Jesus. And that must be the ministry of the Church.
