Episode Details

This episode begins exactly where a responsible podcast should never begin: with Viktor Wilt apparently having once again attempted to personally headbutt the structural integrity of civilization. The show immediately launches into the revelation that Viktor recently smashed his head in an Arctic Circle bathroom after making the deeply questionable decision to try popping his ears while standing up. This was not some graceful medical maneuver performed by a trained professional. This was Viktor plugging his nose, attempting to force his ears to pop, and then apparently downloading a temporary trial version of consciousness because the next thing he knew, he was waking up on the floor with his head having introduced itself violently to a tile wall and his knee having also gotten involved in the festivities. He had been feeling sick before the trip to Park City, his ears were already suffering from elevation and sinus pressure, and then a mountain fire forced the group off the freeway and into a tiny Utah town where fate apparently decided that an Arctic Circle bathroom would become the scene of the most idiotic near-death experience imaginable. 

The truly magnificent part is that nobody immediately knew what had happened because the Arctic Circle bathroom was apparently located far enough away from civilization that Viktor could theoretically have died in there and become a local Utah mystery. He stumbled out pale, disheveled and refusing to explain himself until they got back to the vehicle, where he finally confessed that he had passed out while trying to pop his ears. Naturally, Becca responded not with the immediate solemnity one might expect after discovering that her travel companion had just potentially concussed himself in a fast-food restroom, but by laughing hysterically. Viktor, meanwhile, was conducting a full internal medical investigation, wondering whether he had a concussion, whether one pupil was larger than the other, whether he had brain damage and whether he might simply die. Somehow he still managed to eat a chicken sandwich, although the group spends an absurd amount of time debating why he didn't order the legendary Arctic Circle ranch burger and tots. Because apparently even during a potential neurological emergency, the real tragedy was that Viktor made the wrong lunch decision. 

The episode then takes a hard left turn into Viktor's extensive history of falling down at concerts and radio events. Apparently this is not an isolated incident. He has fallen at Papa Roach, fallen around radio people, fallen through a curtain, and generally demonstrated that standing upright is merely a suggestion. Yet somehow he managed to survive the Ian Munsick concert without falling, despite the venue being on a slope and the entire event eventually being pummeled by an absolutely brutal rainstorm. The crew also revisits the infamous Cody Jinks incident where Viktor apparently arrived late and repeatedly demanded to know where Shane Smith and the Saints were, despite the fact that there was another opener. His defense, naturally, is that he wasn't screaming. Everyone else in the room strongly disagrees. 

Then comes the Ian Munsick Park City takeover, which apparently involved Ian Munsick taking over approximately the entire municipality of Park City, Utah. There were events throughout the day, including an 8 a.m. coffee-and-hike event that Viktor predictably did not attend because walking before the reasonable hour of civilization is apparently beneath him. Instead, the first event he actually bothered to attend was a 3 p.m. happy hour at the Palomino, where the food sounded like it had been designed by someone who hated cowboys. Salmon pancakes, meat tartare, black bean sliders and tiny expensive dishes were discussed while Viktor repeatedly questioned why anybody would spend nearly $20 on something that looked like cat food when they could simply eat a burger.
