The seventh plague marks another major turning point in the Exodus story. God warns Pharaoh that a storm unlike anything Egypt has ever known is coming—devastating hail that will kill every person and animal left exposed in the fields. But before judgment falls, something remarkable happens: for the first time, Egyptians hear the warning of Yahweh and choose to act on it. Some of Pharaoh’s own servants fear the word of the LORD, hurry their people and livestock into shelter, and are spared.

The plague has not even fallen yet, and God is already revealing something essential about His judgment: He could have destroyed Egypt long ago, but He did not. Even here, in the middle of judgment, He warns before He strikes and provides a way of escape. The question is whether those who hear His word will actually trust it enough to move.
