A RHOA reunion recap on Shamea and Porsha, a friendship being cut at the root on camera, and the confessional order that tells you which version the edit believes. |. Part 3 closes the book on Season 17, and it does the thing reunions almost never do: it corrects the record.

We open with K. Michelle, our resident confessional gangster, finally naming the plot she's been circling since May. And the Blakk Diaries close out. Turns out K. Michelle texted Blakk in kind before she ever came on this show, and there was nothing nefarious about any of it. A man complimented her in her DMs, she was polite back, and this cast spent half a season building a conspiracy on top of it. That's the season in miniature.

Then Angela, and this is the one that changed our mind. Everybody watched two seasons and decided Angela couldn't accept her daughter's wife. Wrong fight entirely. Ahmauri has been with her wife since she was twelve. That young woman has been on the family vacations and at the holidays — she was living in Angela and Charles's house, because her own family wasn't receptive to her. Angela didn't reject anybody. Angela took in somebody else's child. What Ahmauri actually couldn't say out loud was the timeline. Getting married defied the vision Angela had for her, which was to live a full life first. Angela had a baby at nineteen and spent her whole life making sure her daughter wouldn't have to move that fast. Ahmauri moved that fast anyway.

And then Shamea, because this reunion belongs to her whether she wants it or not. She admits she came in defensive, and says it's because an alliance had formed. Is that defense warranted? Half of it. The alliance is real — you can hear it in how that room talks about "the other sofa." But she has the order backwards. An alliance didn't form and then she fought everybody. She fought everybody, one at a time, over two seasons, and then those people compared notes. Marsha from Glendale asked the question the cast couldn't: how much responsibility does Shamea take for having beef with every woman in the group?

We also learned something that recontextualizes the entire feud. Porsha and Shamea were not childhood best friends. Their mothers were friends, and that's how the girls ended up in the same rooms. The actual best-friendship didn't start until Porsha's divorce from Kordell. Which is exactly why Scotland was the end — dragging the mothers in wasn't fighting dirty, it was cutting the root.

So where does Shamea stand? One friend in that room. Kelli. And that one, we'd argue, is the real thing and not a rebound.
