Five Bodies Under the Terrace & France's Most Wanted Father - XAVIER DUPONT DE LIGONNÈS
Description
In Episode 5 of our Family Tragedy Series, we revisit one of France's most mysterious criminal cases. In April 2011, Agnès Dupont de Ligonnès and her four children, Arthur, Thomas, Anne and Benoît, were found shot and buried beneath the terrace of their Nantes home. Investigators believe husband and father Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès carefully prepared the killings before creating elaborate cover stories about Australia and U.S. witness protection, then fleeing south. His last confirmed sighting was on April 15, 2011, leaving a hotel in Roquebrune-sur-Argens on foot.
Fifteen years later, Xavier remains missing despite more than 900 reported sightings, mistaken arrests, monastery searches, DNA tests and international theories. Even in 2026, new Texas tips and a fabricated televised "priest confession" generated fresh headlines. This episode examines the murders, Xavier's escape timeline, the evidence of premeditation and the enduring question: did he die in France, or successfully disappear?
