America's AI boom requires enormous amounts of electricity, water, land, and infrastructure—and the corporations building it are increasingly competing for resources that communities and agriculture also depend upon.
Kyle is joined by Bennett Tanton of Broadcasting Seeds, who spent nearly twelve years working in commercial nuclear security, to examine what America's rapidly expanding data-center economy could mean for nuclear power, the electrical grid, water supplies, farmland, food production, and national infrastructure.
But this conversation quickly becomes about something much larger.
As artificial intelligence, digital identity, cashless commerce, automated logistics, agriculture, energy, and communications become increasingly interconnected, Bennett and Kyle ask whether society is trading independence for dependence upon centralized systems controlled by corporations and governments.
