Back to EpisodesEpisode 142 – Are the Nuggets Still Better Than the Jazz & Blazers?
Description
Matthew and Alex are joined briefly by Skit, calling in live from the Brooklyn Bridge, before the main episode gets underway.
The guys start with a more personal conversation about life and the moments that made them realise they were becoming adults, sharing some of their favourite stories and experiences.
From there, it's all NBA as they dive into the Northwest Division, starting with the Denver Nuggets. They break down Denver's offseason, including Spencer Jones, Peyton Watson's departure, and how the second apron is already forcing championship contenders to make difficult roster decisions. The guys discuss how much Denver has invested in its title-winning core and whether the new CBA has fundamentally changed their outlook.
That leads to the big question: are the Nuggets actually on the same level as the Jazz and Blazers after the offseason? Alex sees Denver as a potential play-in team, while Matt still expects them to make the playoffs.
The guys then assess Utah's new roster around Lauri Markkanen and Darryn Peterson before turning to Portland and where the Blazers fit in the Western Conference.
Life stories, second-apron chaos, and one big question: have the Nuggets fallen into the same tier as Utah and Portland?
