Why Your Training Plan Looks Nothing Like Your Mate's

Season 1 Episode 54 Published 1 week ago
Description

Ever looked at the board and wondered why today is lighter, why you are deadlifting again, or why your personal training plan looks nothing like what your mate does in the group class? This episode pulls the curtain back on the thinking behind all three WSF services.

The surprising truth: the three services are not the same training in different sized rooms. They are programmed on completely different principles. The destination is identical for everyone, well-rounded, transferable fitness built on strength, conditioning, and mobility. What changes is the unit being programmed.

Group is where we program the whole week as one connected engine: a five, three, one shape with conditioning across energy systems, strength three to four days depending on the cycle, and a longer slower piece, all delivered through sessions engineered so a full room of up to ten actually flows. Liam gets into the logistics members never see, how a shared rig, wall ball targets, and floor space genuinely decide which movements make the cut.

Personal training and semi private flip the whole approach. Here we program the session, not the week, because these members come in for a couple of potent, resistance-focused sessions and live their lives around it. Every session has to be the highest-leverage hour we can build, and the whole point is the knock-on effect into everyday life. Semi private is the impressive hybrid: four individual plans, one coach, one floor, choreographed into a dance.

Underneath all of it sits the one thing that decides whether any programme works: getting you to come back tomorrow.
