Cs: V jemném letním světle, které proudilo okny psychiatrické oddělení, seděl Jakub na své posteli.
En: In the gentle summer light streaming through the windows of the psychiatric ward, Jakub sat on his bed.
Cs: Tašky pod očima svědčily o bezesných nocích.
En: The bags under his eyes testified to his sleepless nights.
Cs: Pocit úzkosti ho dusil jako neviditelná síť.
En: Anxiety suffocated him like an invisible net.
Cs: Teď, když bylo léto v plném proudu, voněly květiny z nádvoří.
En: Now, with summer in full swing, the flowers from the courtyard smelled fragrant.
Cs: Ten slabý závan z vnějšího světa mu připomínal, že existuje něco víc než jen tyhle bílé stěny.

En: She opened the album to a page where they both were in a photograph from a summer vacation by the lake.
Cs: Jakub si pamatoval ten den.
En: Jakub remembered that day.
Cs: Bylo jim sotva deset.
En: They were barely ten.
Cs: Voda byla jasná, a jeho starosti tehdy byly tak malé.
En: The water was clear, and his worries back then were so small.
Cs: „Pamatuješ?“ zeptala se Eliska a šťastně ukázala na obrázek, kde malý Jakub chytil velkou rybu, zatímco Eliska tleskala ve vodě za ním.
En: "Do you remember?" she asked, happily pointing to a picture where little Jakub caught a big fish while Eliska clapped in the water behind him.
Cs: Jakub se na chvíli usmál, ale úsměv rychle zmizel.
En: Jakub smiled for a moment, but the smile quickly faded.
Cs: „Bylo to fajn,“ odpověděl tiše.
En: "It was nice," he replied quietly.
