Show 4: Crooners & Sinatra

This week on JC’s Bangers & Mosh, JC swaps the guitars and Britpop swagger for sharp suits, big orchestras and some of the smoothest voices ever committed to record.

Hour One celebrates the golden age of the crooner — those unmistakable singers who could turn a great melody into something effortlessly cool, romantic and timeless. From classic voices and swinging standards to some of the songs that helped define popular music through the 1950s, ’60s and beyond, it’s an hour packed with style, charm, nostalgia and extraordinary vocal talent.

Then in Hour Two, the spotlight belongs to one man: Frank Sinatra.

JC takes a journey through Sinatra’s remarkable catalogue — from intimate ballads and late-night heartbreak to the swaggering, big-band performances that made him one of the most recognisable voices of the twentieth century. Along the way there are stories, classics, favourites and plenty of reminders of just why Sinatra became known simply as The Voice.

Two hours. Thirty tracks. The great crooners, the great songs — and a full hour with Frank.
