When God Fills the Temple. (2 Chronicles 5: 2-14)

In our last episode, we watched the Temple rise stone by stone, beam by beam, overlay by overlay. And it is presented to us as the raising of a building designed to teach Israel how to approach God. But today, in 2 Chronicles 5:2–14, something extraordinary happens.
This moment is the climax of everything Solomon has been preparing for. It is the core of the entire Temple narrative, and it raises two deeply important questions for us:
What does this teach us about seeking God, and how do we know when God approves of our actions?
Because in this passage, Israel does something overwhelmingly simple. They seek God by bringing the ark, the symbol of His presence, into the place He commanded. And God responds in a way that leaves no doubt about His approval.
“The house will be filled with a cloud,” and “The glory of the Lord filled the house of God.”
God makes His approval visible, His presence unmistakable, and His pleasure known, and that is what we’re going to explore today.
What does it mean to seek God faithfully?
What does obedience look like in practice?
And how does God show His approval, but not through clouds and glory today, but through Scripture, providence, and the witness of the Spirit?
So, turn with me now to 2 Chronicles 5, beginning at verse 2, as we watch the ark enter the Temple — and discover what this moment teaches us about seeking God and knowing His approval…..
