SHIFTHEADS: Hit in the Face at 110 MPH. Still Not Missing a Game
Description
A Blue Jays game turned into a viral moment when Liz McGuire took a 110 mile an hour foul ball to the face, and she has zero regrets about how she was holding her beer that night. Two years later, she returns with an update on the hit and on being back in the stands.
The viral clip aside, this year's Blue Jays are fighting for a wildcard spot despite a season of injuries, underperformance, and losing Kevin Gausman at the trade deadline. Liz walks through why a stretch of seven wins in ten games, sitting half a game out of a wildcard spot, has the team believing again.
For any Blue Jays fan who has learned to brace for heartbreak, or wonders what it actually feels like to sit through a rally game with the whole stadium locked in, this conversation is the real thing.
