Wayne McKoy: St. John's Basketball Legend | Cleveland News
Description
A Big East legend has passed away: Wayne McKoy, the towering St. John’s forward who helped lead the Red Storm to the 1979 Elite Eight and battled Duke in a legendary upset, died at 68. A dominant scorer and rebounder, he ranks among the program’s all-time leaders in points, rebounds, and blocks, and was honored with All-Region and All-Big East Second Team nods. Drafted by the Knicks in 1981, he chose overseas play in Spain instead. St. John’s called him an “all-time great Johnnie.”
