En: On a hot summer day in Bratislava, the police station was full of noise and hustle.

En: The doors kept opening and closing, and people streamed through the room with the hope that their problems would be solved.

En: The air inside was cool from the air conditioning, but the tension was palpable.

Sk: Medzi čakajúcimi bol Marek, človek s rozvahou a morálnou pevnosťou.
En: Among those waiting was Marek, a person with composure and moral strength.

Sk: Marek prišiel na stanicu, aby nahlásil krádež, ktorú omylom videl na trhovisku.
En: Marek came to the station to report a theft that he had accidentally witnessed at the marketplace.

En: He watched closely as clouds of nervousness arched from the window.

En: However, his heart suddenly stopped when he saw a man with a similar face in the crowd.

En: His life choices had led him down different paths.

Sk: Bol charizmatický, no často kráčal po zlej strane zákona.
En: He was charismatic but often walked on the wrong side of the law.

En: Their family had given up all hope, but Marek still felt within himself the desire for the renewal of their brotherly bond.

Sk: Marek sa musel rozhodnúť.
En: Marek had to make a decision.

Sk: Má tu šancu obnoviť vzťahy alebo plniť svoju občiansku povinnosť?
En: Does he take the chance to restore their relationship, or fulfill his civic duty?

Sk: Ticho sa posadil na lavicu.
En: He quietly sat down on a bench.

En: He heard the voices of the policemen, the rustling of papers, the pen tapping on the counter.

Sk: Potil sa.
En: He was sweating.

Sk: Nakoniec Marek zavolal Ladislava k sebe.
En: In the end, Marek called Ladislav over to him.

Sk: „Ladislav, prečo robíš takéto veci?“ spýtal sa jemne, možno až príliš ticho.
En: “Ladislav, why do you do such things?” he asked gently, perhaps too softly.

En: Ladislav looked at his brother with tiredness in his eyes, but also with interest.

Sk: „Neviem, Marek.
En: “I don’t know, Marek.

Sk: Veci sú ťažké,“ priznal sa so skleslosťou.
En: Things are tough,” he admitted with dejection.

Sk: Marek sa rozhodol.
En: Marek made his decision.

Sk: Nepovedal policajtom, že Ladislav je podozrivý.
