Energy use at Meta data center not a “trade secret,” judge rules
Published 1 month ago
Description
The state’s Public Service Commission unlawfully withheld information about the projected energy use at Meta’s data center in Beaver Dam, a Dane County judge ruled on Monday.
Midwest Environmental Advocates (MEA) filed the lawsuit late last year, seeking a better understanding of the project’s scale and its potential impact on the public. Speaking with our News Producer Faye Parks this afternoon, legal fellow Michael Greif explained why Monday’s ruling is a win for government transparency.
