Joe can’t play golf the way he used to after a heart attack and a broken foot, so he does what most of us say we’ll do but rarely follow through on: he goes hunting for a new way to stay active. The result is FlingGolf, a senior-friendly, low-impact sport that swaps traditional clubs for a “flinger” with a cup that launches the ball down the fairway. It sounds silly until you hear why it works, what it demands, and how it feels to be the only person on a busy driving range doing something completely different.

From there we veer into the real heart of everyday life: food, pride, and the stories we attach to both. Joe shares his baked potato “fame,” including the wild topping suggestions people send in, and unveils his stuffed peppers “recipe” that starts at the grocery store and ends in the microwave. That kicks off a surprisingly honest debate about what counts as cooking, why some people love the craft, and why others just want dinner so they can get on with their day.

We also run through a cooking from scratch checklist that turns into a quick personal history lesson, complete with family habits, old-school kitchen skills, and a story about bringing rum-flavored sweet potatoes to work and learning that not everyone reacts the way you expect. To close, we tackle a scenario question with real emotional bite: if you forgot only one friend after a minor head injury, would that friend try to rebuild the relationship, or walk away?

If you like funny storytelling with real-life takeaways about adaptive sports, aging well, comfort food, and friendship, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find us.
