Ja: 夏の日差しが暖かく京都の街を照らしていました。
En: The summer sunshine warmly lit up the streets of Kyoto.
Ja: 赤と白が映える伏見稲荷大社の鳥居が、山の上へと続いています。
En: The red and white torii gates of Fushimi Inari Taisha stretched towards the top of the mountain.
Ja: お盆の時期、人々は亡くなった祖先を偲び、祈りを捧げに来ます。
En: During the Obon season, people come to remember their deceased ancestors and offer prayers.
Ja: その中に、アキラとサクラがいました。
En: Among them were Akira and Sakura.

Ja: 「この鳥居、なんだか迷路みたいだね。」サクラが楽しげに言いました。
En: "These torii look like a maze, don't they?" Sakura said cheerfully.
Ja: アキラは静かにうなずきました。
En: Akira nodded silently.
Ja: 鳥居の赤色が続く道を歩きながら、アキラは自分の心に耳を傾けようとしました。
En: As he walked along the path of continuous red torii, Akira tried to listen to his own heart.
