Story Transcript:
En: At the break of a summer day, Vid stood on the shore of Blejsko lake.
Sl: Voda je žarela v mehkobno sončno svetlobo.
En: The water glowed in the soft sunlight.
En: As a young artist, he had come to Blejski island seeking inspiration.
En: At night, he heard the bells of the church echo across the calm lake, but now it was daytime, and he needed to finish his painting.
Sl: Ta pokrajina mu je pomenila vse.
En: This landscape meant everything to him.
En: He had to be satisfied with it to present it at the Ljubljana exhibition.
En: Vid sat on a rock by the water, picked up his brush and paints.
En: He focused, but soon he began to feel strange.
En: His head felt light, as if his thoughts were floating.
Sl: Strmel je v platno, vendar njegove roke niso mogle najti prave smeri.
En: He stared at the canvas, but his hands couldn't find the right direction.
En: It was odd to feel this way at such a low altitude.
Sl: Morda je bil le izčrpan.
En: Perhaps he was just exhausted.
En: Matej and Anja, friends who had often helped him before, came to the island to support Vid.
Sl: "Vid, vse v redu?" je vprašala Anja z zaskrbljenim pogledom.
En: "Are you alright, Vid?" Anja asked with a worried look.
Sl: Vid je poskušal odgovoriti: "Samo malce sem zaspan in zmeden..." Toda to ni bilo vse.
En: Vid tried to answer: "I'm just a little sleepy and confused..." But that wasn't everything.
En: He was too stubborn to ask for more help.
Sl: Matej mu je prinesel steklenico vode.
En: Matej handed him a bottle of water.
Sl: "Pij, mogoče se boš bolje počutil."
En: "Drink, maybe you'll feel better."
En: There was always something comforting about the cool water from the depths of the lake.
Sl: Vid je vzel požirek in se nasmehnil.
En: Vid took a sip and smiled.
En: He wasn't used to asking for help, but the water alleviated his troubles.
En: Then he decided to take a short break, sitting under the shade of one of the mighty lindens growing by the church.
Sl: Tiho mu je dala moč nadaljevati.
En: Silently, it gave him the strength to continue.
En: But when he stood up again, the world started spinning.
Sl: Vid je omedlel, njegov čopič je padel s platna.
En: Vid fainted, his bru
