Not all worship is acceptable to God. Through the account of Cain and Abel, Dr. Michael Youssef exposes the difference between saving faith and empty religion.

Abel came to God in obedient faith, offering the sacrifice God required. Cain approached God on his own terms—and his rejection reveals the danger of self-will, works without repentance, and worship disconnected from obedience.

Abel’s sacrifice also points forward to Jesus Christ, whose shed blood alone provides salvation for sinners. His example reminds us that genuine faith does more than profess belief: it submits to Scripture, obeys God, and leaves a testimony that can speak for generations.

This episode calls believers to:

• Examine the heart behind their worship,
• Repent of self-will and empty religion,
• Submit to the authority of God’s Word,
• Trust in Christ alone for salvation,
• Live a faith whose witness outlives them.

True faith obeys. True worship honors God. And, like Abel’s, a faithful testimony can still speak long after death.
