Coventry City have completed the signing of striker Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest on a permanent transfer, announced by the club on Monday. The 29 year old scored 21 league goals in 90 appearances across four seasons at Forest and has 10 caps for Nigeria. The club have not stated a fee and the reported figures do not agree. Coventry's allocation for the Carabao Cup second round tie at Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday 25 August, kick off 7.45pm, goes on sale this morning: 1,770 tickets, one per Supporter Number, no away ballot, sold on loyalty points from 10am, with 212 slight restricted view tickets sold last. Adult tickets are £20, over 65s and under 23s £15, under 18s £10, plus a £1 booking fee. Two October fixtures have been selected for live broadcast on Sky Sports Monday Night Football: Newcastle United at home on Monday 12 October at 8pm and Tottenham Hotspur away on Monday 19 October at 8pm. The 2026/27 third kit was launched with Hummel, a purple design with an all white crest, on sale in store and online from 9am on Thursday 20 August. Coventry open the Premier League season at Arsenal on Friday.
