Episode Details

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed at the D23 event that discussions are underway for Johnny Depp to return for a sixth Pirates of the Caribbean film. While a script is currently in development, reports suggest the franchise may pivot toward a new lead played by Margot Robbie, potentially relegating the character of Jack Sparrow to a supporting role. Beyond high-seas adventures, Bruckheimer also addressed the corporate landscape, expressing his desire for Paramount to remain in California despite potential mergers and relocation plans. He emphasized his support for David Ellison’s vision for the studio, highlighting a hope for a more robust and prolific film industry. This update arrives as the series looks to rebound from the lower commercial performance of its most recent installment.
