Rissa Miller is an award-winning author, folklorist, historian, and storyteller whose work explores the strange places where history, folklore, and the unexplained meet. A former award-winning journalist and the literary coordinator at the Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum, she has spent nearly a decade leading ghost tours and researching the legends, hauntings, and unusual histories of Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Rissa is especially fascinated by the stories communities tell about the places they inhabit and what those stories reveal about both the past and the people who keep them alive. Her research takes her on deep dives into historic archives, old newspapers, cemeteries, museums, and, of course, more than a few haunted buildings.
