South Carolina football is ready for its first scrimmage of 2026 fall camp, and Saturday could give Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks their first real answers about a roster carrying plenty of expectations into the season.

On today’s Locked On Gamecocks, we preview the first major test of fall camp and break down the three biggest questions South Carolina needs answered when the offense and defense finally go live.

🏈 Can the red-zone offense finish drives? With Kendal Briles taking over the offense, moving the football is only part of the equation. What happens when the field shrinks? We look at what needs to improve inside the 20 and which players could become South Carolina's go-to weapons near the goal line.

🏈 Who wins the turnover battle? Protecting the football — and creating takeaways defensively — will be one of the biggest areas to watch Saturday. Which quarterbacks and skill players take care of the ball, and can Clayton White's defense create the game-changing plays South Carolina will need in SEC play?

🏈 Can South Carolina solve its special teams questions? The Gamecocks entered camp with competition at kicker and plenty to establish under new special teams coordinator Matthew Smiley. Saturday's scrimmage could be one of the first opportunities for someone to separate himself.

Plus, we identify three Gamecocks who are officially "on the clock" entering the scrimmage. With position battles heating up and the season getting closer, this is the point in camp where opportunities start turning into depth-chart decisions.

Who needs a big Saturday? Which position battle are you watching closest? And what would make the first scrimmage a success for Shane Beamer and South Carolina?
