126: Let's Make Some Noise
Description
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Star Trek Beyond.
Beyond is the last theatrical film to date. The film was released on July 22, 2016, to lower-than-normal box office of the three Kelvin Timeline films and also due to "Sequelitis" that plagued the summer of 2016. The film was Paramount's SOLE successful film of the year. The film's underperformance scrapped plans for a planned time-travel sequel. The film had one of the worst marketing campaigns despite it was released to celebrate Star Trek's 50th anniversary. It nevertheless has the strongest story of the three films.
In this episode of Twin Cities Trekkies, which marks the finale of the Second Star Trek Film Extravaganza, Wes welcomes Canadian writer and actor Heather Cameron to talk about the film.
PODCAST NOTE: Heather makes mentions of being a former writer for TrekSphere. At the time of the recording, the site was off-line; it has since been back online.
