LinkedIn's "Ghost Job" Problem: Are Those Jobs Even Real?
Published 3 hours ago
Description
Recently, the Texas Attorney General launched an investigation into LinkedIn, accusing the company of misleading Texans who pay for Premium subscriptions by promoting access to job opportunities that may not be legitimate. The investigation focuses on so-called “ghost jobs”—job postings for positions that aren’t actually available or that employers have no immediate intention of filling. In this episode, I discuss what ghost jobs are, why companies post them, and how they can impact job seekers. I’ll also share practical recommendations for identifying and avoiding ghost jobs so you can spend less time applying to positions that may never lead to an interview—and more time pursuing legitimate opportunities.
