In Napoleonic-era Spain, French officer Victor Marchand is drawn to Clara de Léganès, daughter of the proud Marquis de Léganès. Against the tense occupation of the coastal town of Menda, loyalty, family honor, and the brutal demands of war close in on the noble household.
