The Desert Swimmer. How a sheep station manager confronted depression and took a swim across the English Channel.
Description
Brendan Cullen was diagnosed with depression in 2015 and presented himself to the Broken Hill Base Hospital. Fighting brain fog and rumination of thoughts that weren't good, Brendan decided to ask for help......and to swim the English Channel. During the process of recovery, Brendan realised he wasn't alone...and that he had a story, a good story to tell. Brendan is the now-former Manager of Kars Sheep Station, 65 kilometres east of Broken Hill. Only recently, Brendan and his family have moved into town, to Broken Hill. Brendan explains how he overcame his depression and how he now helps others. And of his preparation and experience of swimming the Channel.
