Published 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Description
The U.S. military forcibly disabled a Panama-flagged cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman on August 11, 2026, after the vessel defied repeated orders and attempted to break the American naval blockade of Iranian ports. A U.S. Navy MH-60 helicopter fired Hellfire missiles directly into the engine and steering gear of the M/V Vela Nova, rendering the ship dead in the water.
