Thursday, August 13th: An earthly high priest represented the people before God, dealt gently with those who wandered, and offered sacrifices for sin—but he was also a sinner who needed forgiveness. Jesus is the perfect High Priest: appointed by the Father, fully acquainted with our weakness, completely obedient through suffering, and eternally victorious over death. Because His saving work is finished and His priesthood lasts forever, He is the source of eternal salvation for everyone who trusts and follows Him.
