Celebrating 35 Years of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

After the release of The Final Frontier, Paramount was not keen on making another Star Trek film. There were ideas bandied about, and even a prequel got so far as the storyboarding stage before being abandoned in favor of a final film starring the original cast. Released on December 6, 1991, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Star Trek, The Undiscovered Country bookended the Original Series era with a film that told its version of the collapse of the Soviet Union - the film is the first to be released following the collapse of that communist nation.
