Golf has plenty of official rules, but somehow, golfers have invented an entirely separate rulebook of things you’re just supposed to know. In Episode 08 of Splitting Fairways, Hawk and Tox take on Golf’s Dumbest Unwritten Rules and try to figure out where legitimate etiquette ends and pointless golf judgment begins.

Hats indoors. Untucked shirts. Denim. Changing your shoes in the parking lot. Too many headcovers. 14-way bags. And, of course, the undisputed heavyweight champion of unnecessary golf arguments: iron covers. If none of these things affect another golfer’s round, why does anyone care? Ryan (Hawk) and Jeremy (Lord Tox) debate which traditions still have a place in the game, and which ones golfers need to stop taking so seriously.

Then they head to the course to tackle the unwritten rules that might actually matter. Should honors on the tee give way to ready golf?
